Snapshot vs. Professional Look

Tue Sep 22, 2009, 9:01 AM
So, I've often wondered why 2 people can take a picture of the same subject, with the same camera and they can both upload those pictures to deviantart... 1 will get thousands of faves and views, while the other gets 10 faves and he had to tell those people to look at it. Do you ever wonder what the difference was?

I think it's typically a case of getting the composition right and the post-processing job. But what I'm asking here is what do you think the difference is between a typical snapshot that the DA gallery is full of and a professional shot that is a very small percentage of DA.

One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. "Which road do I take?" she asked. "Where do you want to go?" was his response. "I don't know," Alice answered. "Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter." - Lewis Carroll
